If you have this archive, which should be named PCSHX10B.EXE for the sake of
its associated installation program, with its companion archive, PCSHX10A.EXE,
there is no need for you to read this file: Start there instead.
If you have otherwise come across it, however, please continue.
You will find here a number of very interesting and useful freely
distributed and mostly UNIX-like programs. One role they can have is to
extend your DOS operating system to support the program described below.
The program is called PC-Shakespeare, and this archive is one of 4 which
together install as a fully functional six play sample.
It is more than a computerized concordance, rather it is a tool to think
about and organize ones thoughts concerning the whats, whys and hows
of all of Shakespeare's works, as well as draw out specfic contents
and subjects therein. It should be broadly useful to writers, teachers,
students, scholars and those in the dramatic arts, as well as anyone who
wishes to use what is new in our world to investigate what is best in it.
PC-Shakespeare embodies many characteristics of what has come to be
called 'hypertext', and some new ideas as well. It has an attractive,
convenient and internally consistent mouse-driven interface with a
built-in help system. If you keep it resident on your hard disk, the full
version occupies about 6.5 megabytes, but it cooperates with dearchiving
itself, so it can remain available in much less space. The sample uses 1.5.
The fully functional sample of PC-Shakespeare with the plays King John,
Richard II, the two Henry IVs, Henry V, and Henry VIII may be obtained
from me for $5.00. ($10.00 Overseas). This is merely a distribution
charge and it includes postage and tax. The complete version is $54.00.

If you put this archive inside of another archive or onto a disk for
distribution, it would be nice if you enclosed a copy of PCSHX10B.INF, if
available, for online readers etc.
